In the early 19th century, the Latin Rite Carmelites, centered in Varappuzha, were ruling over the Syriac Christians. Pala Puthanpally Parish Kaniyarakattu Hon.Mani Malpanachan Erakonniputhanpura Thommapanik's children with the help of Kishkekara Varki, the fourth generation, under Melus Methra in Ilanthottam slum in 1872. A church was founded in the name of Anthony Nice Bava. In 1882, the Chaldean Metropolitan Thondanat Mar Abdisho, who was consecrated by Melus Metropolitan, made this church his episcopal church and began his ecclesiastical administration. 1900 Mand Mar Abisho passed away. After that, the priests of the East, Hon. Yuseppachan and Yohan Nanachan also handed over the birthright of the church property, the church and the church belongings received from Kurupakkattu Namboothiri to the Roman Catholic Church. In 1911, under Abhi Vandya Mar Kuryalassery, the Bishop of Changanassery Diocese, Ilanthottam Church became the Kuri Supalli of Pala Valiya Church. On December 21, 1966, Abhiwandya Mar Sebastian Vyal raised this church as a parish church during his father's tenure.
